Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Concurrent Enrollment Class?
Concurrent Enrollment refers to a class you can take for college and high school credit at your high school taught by your high school teacher. In other words, you can receive college credit for classes you are already taking as a high school student. This can help give you a headstart towards a college degree or certificate.
Concurrent Enrollment works differently at each high school, and the classes offered at your high school might be different than those offered at other high schools. Check with your Dual Enrollment Navigator to learn more.
Which classes can I take through Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment classes differ for each school. To see which classes are offered in the current academic year, find your school listed in the main menu. Note that Concurrent Enrollment classes will only count for college credit if your student takes the class with the instructor listed on your school's page.
College is expensive. How much do Concurrent Enrollment classes cost?
Through the 2024-25 academic year, tuition for Nebrasksa high school students is waived for all Secondary Partnership programs, including Concurrent Enrollment.
Some schools charge a fee for supplies and books. Students and parents/guardians should consult their high school to learn more about possible fees for concurrent enrollment classes.
I'm not attending Metropolitan Community College after high school. How will I know if my classes will transfer?
Many of MCC's concurrent enrollment and dual credit classes transfer to regional and national colleges and univeristies. When planning your post-secondary education, students should research not only if your classes will transfer but also how they transfer.
Transferology (transferology.com) by CollegeSource is an excellent tool to estimate which classes will transfer to the university you plan to attend. Students should always confirm the transferability of a course with your univerisity's advising or enrollment team.
